AS Holiday work

You have three things to do this holiday season.

1. Make some revision flash cards for all your work on camera angles, shot sizes and types. Each card needs an image of what the camera work is, as well as an explanation as to how it is used. Refer to the handouts I have given you recently for this.

2. Complete 2 written analysis' of a 5 minute scene from two different TV dramas- one needs to focus on age and the other on gender and how this is shown through camera work.

Hand in when we return.

Georgia- Audience research

Can you draft an audience questionaire with at least 8 questions. The questions need to include at least one multiple choice, one likert scale, and one question putting themselves in an age and gender bracket. Then you need to have some general questions but think about the response that you want. For example if you want a detailed answer does your question allow enough scope for that? Think carefully about the wording. Bring this in for tomorrow's lesson.

A2 Investigation into the Recording Industry

Today Year 13, you are to research and create a presentation into the music industry. You need to choose a major record company, its artists and its appeal. You need to cover;

1.) History of the record company
2.) Who are their major artists? You might post some videos.
3.) How do they market their artists? Screengrabs of images, facebook pages, youtube accounts
4.) What is their market share of the industry?
5.) How are they tackling the problem of digital piracy? Newspaper articles, statements for CEO.

Think about making your work as visual as possible. You can do this in a powerpoint presentation, a prezi, or a youtube video to put on the blog. Either way you need to present this to your peers and to me at the end of the session.

A2 media

To help re-awaken your case study on video games and the BBFC, watch this 30 minute documentary on BBC panorama. It is mainly about video game addiction, but there are some interesting ideas about effects theory and some individual responses to online gaming.

Watch it here.
